AZIZULHASNI, JUNE HOONG TRADERS AND SPORTS NATIONAL.
KUALA LUMPUR, March 13, 2018 - National cyclist Mohd Azizulhasni Awang and fallen queen, Cheong Jun Hoong met the predictions when crowned national sports and athletes at the National Sports Awards 2017.
Azizulhasni managed to make history of the world's keirin champions at the World Trek Trek in Hong Kong while Jun Hoong made a surprise as a world champion in the 10-meter platform platform woman in Budapest, Hungary.
Besides Azizulhasni, they are also listed in sports candidates including Syarul Azman Mahen (bodybuilding body), Muhammad Hakimi Ismail (sports), Gavin Kyle Green (golf) Mohd. Fitri Saari (hockey) Mohamad Rafiq Ismail (bowling) and Khairul Hafiz Man (sports).
"I'm very grateful for this success, it's a motivation for me to face two big games this year."
Meanwhile, Jun Hoong set aside five other candidates, S. Sivasangari (squash), Koi Sie Yan (gimrama), Fatehah Mustapa (biking), Emma Firyana Saroji (bowling) and Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman (bowling).
His Highness the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V has been happy to deliver two major awards.
Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli was named the National Paralympian once again breaking the F20 bullet world record at the London World Sports Championships.
The Hockey team and Tenpin Bowling team were awarded the Men's Team and the National Women's Team, while national sprint coach Mohd Poad Md Kassim and Yoong Sze Yuin's women's basketball coach were crowned National Male Coach and National Women's Coach.
Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar, was announced as National Sportsman Datuk Wan Nawawi Wan Ismail (Boling Padang) to receive the Leadership Award.
Meanwhile, Johor Darul Ta'zim Football Club and MotoGP rider, Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah received the Special Award.
